Embark account servers (online only)
Raider level, loadout, stash and quests are tied to your Embark/platform account and stored server-side. There is no offline/local copy to move to a new PC — just sign in with the same account.

Console progress is also server-side via your Embark-linked account. No user-accessible save file on disk; cloud-save menus only hold settings.
Cloud saves
Because progress is server-side, Steam Cloud only syncs the local config (GameUserSettings.ini) — not your raider. You cannot lose progress to a bad cloud sync, and you cannot recover a wiped account by restoring a local file. If your progress looks reset, it is almost always a login/region or server issue, not a corrupted save.
How to open the save folder
- Press Win + R to open the Run box.
- Type %localappdata%\PioneerGame\Saved\SaveGames and press Enter.
- This folder holds GameUserSettings.ini and .sav settings files — back it up only if you want to keep custom keybinds/graphics settings.
- To reset settings to default, close the game and delete GameUserSettings.ini; it is regenerated on next launch.
Save problems & fixes
Progress appears reset after reinstalling or moving PCs
Confirm you're signed in with the exact same Steam/Embark account and region. Progress is server-side, so a fresh-looking profile means wrong login, not data loss.
Custom settings/keybinds gone
Restore your backed-up GameUserSettings.ini into %LOCALAPPDATA%\PioneerGame\Saved\SaveGames, or reconfigure in-game — these are the only files that live locally.
