Cloud saves
The original 2007 Crysis predates modern launcher cloud saves, so on Steam/EA the local Documents\My Games\Crysis\SaveGames folder is your real copy — back it up manually before reinstalling. Crysis Remastered adds proper cloud sync.
How to open the save folder
- Press Win + R to open the Run box.
- Paste shell:personal\My Games\Crysis\SaveGames and press Enter (shell:personal resolves to your Documents folder).
- Copy the save files somewhere safe.
- Keep a copy off the system drive before reinstalling Windows.
Save problems & fixes
Crysis save won't load
Back up the whole SaveGames folder first. Verify game files (Steam/EA app), and make sure the save was made on the same major version — patched saves can fail to load on an older build.
Moving Crysis saves to a new PC
Copy the entire %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Crysis\SaveGames folder to the same path on the new machine before launching the game.
