Stardew Valley Save File Location

Here's exactly where Stardew Valley stores your farm save on every platform, how to open the folder, and how to back it up before you edit or move it.

Save file locations

Windows
%APPDATA%\StardewValley\Saves

Full path: C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley\Saves\ . Each farm has its own subfolder named FarmName_<numbers>.

macOS
~/.config/StardewValley/Saves

In Finder use Go › Go to Folder and paste the path. On some setups it is ~/Library/Application Support/StardewValley/Saves.

Android
Internal storage/StardewValley/Saves

Use a file manager app to browse to this folder.

iOS
Files app › On My iPhone › Stardew Valley

Access saves through the Files app under the Stardew Valley folder.

Cloud saves

On PC through Steam, Stardew Valley uses Steam Cloud, so your farm syncs across machines when you log in with the same account. If a local save and the cloud save conflict, Steam asks which one to keep — choose the newer one to avoid losing progress.

How to open the save folder

  1. Press Win + R to open the Run box.
  2. Type %appdata% and press Enter.
  3. Open the StardewValley folder, then the Saves folder.
  4. Copy the whole save folder somewhere safe before editing, modding, or moving PCs.
