How to transfer your Core Keeper save to a new PC

  1. On the old PC, press Win+R, paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam and press Enter, then open your <SteamID> folder.
  2. Copy both the saves folder (your characters) and the worlds folder to a USB drive, cloud folder, or network share.
  3. Or, from Core Keeper's main menu, press Ctrl+Alt+B to drop a CoreKeeperSaves.zip backup on your desktop and move that instead.
  4. Install Core Keeper on the new PC and launch it once, then close it so the folder structure is created.
  5. Open the same %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\<SteamID> path on the new PC and paste saves and worlds back in.
  6. Launch and confirm your character and world both loaded before deleting the backup.

Does cloud sync move it for you?

Core Keeper uses Steam Cloud, but the local copy lives in AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm. Let Cloud finish syncing on the new PC before you paste an older manual backup in, or a sync can overwrite it.

FAQ

How do I move my Core Keeper save to a new PC?

Copy the save from %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\<SteamID> on the old PC to the exact same path on the new PC, then launch the game. Use a USB drive, cloud storage, or a network share to move the files.

Will Core Keeper cloud saves transfer automatically?

Core Keeper uses Steam Cloud, but the local copy lives in AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm. Let Cloud finish syncing on the new PC before you paste an older manual backup in, or a sync can overwrite it.

Where is the Core Keeper save folder on the old PC?

It's at %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\<SteamID>. Paste that into the File Explorer address bar (or Win+R) to open it. See our full location guide for every platform.

Do I need to copy any other files?

Copy the whole save folder, not just one file — some games store settings, backups, or profile sub-folders alongside the main save. Copying the entire folder avoids missing anything.
